New Buckenham Play Area Opening Ceremony
We are delighted to announce that the New Buckenham Play Area refurbishment is almost complete. To celebrate the opening of this wonderful facility for the village we are holding a grand party on Sunday 14th June from 12 noon onwards with the Opening Ceremony at 12.30pm. Everyone in the village has been invited to the party along with funding organisations and project supporters. The event will include food, drink and entertainment including a live swing band!
The party will also include the planting of a tree in memory of one of the Play Project team, Lindsay Stevenson, who sadly died from cancer a few months ago.
The New Buckeneer Play Project team has been fundraising since April 2007. Grants have been awarded from The Big Lottery Fund through their ‘Community Spaces’ programme, WREN, Breckland Council (match funding) and Awards for All, along with other monies raised through fundraising events and generous donations from local people, local organisations and local businesses.
The project team would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people who have contributed their time, effort and money to set the provision of our play project in motion and who have kept the momentum going enabling us to achieve our aim of providing the village of New Buckenham with an exciting and stimulating play space that all our youngsters can enjoy.
Further information with regard to the project can be obtained from either:
